Finally..

I had an hour of rest after a grueling morning today. Today is the closing presentation to the Technical Board on the project that I was working for the past 18 months. I had sleepless night for the past two weeks except during weekend (although DH said I slept like a log… hehehe) studying for the closing presentation. I waited in the standby room since 8:30 am and still waiting until 1 pm, when the committee is ready to break for lunch. I was lucky that MPY, the project director saved my presentation for viewing as this month is the last month for me to close it on time. I was rushed from the beginning to the end of the first phase, interrupted by the SVP on several slides asking for clarifications. Then, came the most important thing – the results. When I started showing the plots, mentioned this and that, more questions coming arguing the validity but eventually things came to its end, the recommendation. Another 10 minutes of clarifications and firing on the vocabulary that I have chosen, the judgment came in. The project is closed and comment for new R&D project on data verification to be carried out. I felt like jumping right there, too happy that this time those people did not scrutinize every bits and pieces that I have written on the slides and finding my faults. I was on time for this one, my first project. They got the overall picture and the need to add the provisions, and even suggest for a new project to be done. Isn’t it cool? Worth waiting for half a day, just to get this project out of the way. The only thing left is my MEE and pending services. This morning, when I woke up at 3:30 am, it was drizzling outside – I thought it was a good sign for a good day. Indeed it was, and I can only believe the positive thing will happen if I start the day with positive thinking. I called DAM right outside the Board room for the good news, and later called DH after lunch to share the joy. This is one hell of a project that took me months to plan, execute and enjoyed. At least this weekend I can enjoy the girls’ Sports Day at IIUM, Gombak.

However, I was sad that NA did not secure her project, quite similar to this but maybe not her luck this time. She is having an eye sore and still wanted to get to the Board this month. IQ paper was approved and he too was very happy indeed.

It was a good day indeed, for me at least.
